Gel Polish Mastery: One-Day Intensive Course

Entry foundation level into the industry. Can be booked alongside the Builder Gel & Hard Gel course provided the Gel Polish course is scheduled before.

Unlock the essentials of the nail industry with our comprehensive one-day course designed for beginners and aspiring nail technicians. This hands-on training will provide you with in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in professional gel polish application. There are no prerequisites required to join this course, but you must be 16 years of age or over to attend.

Gel Polish and Builder Gel remain two of the most in-demand and profitable services in the nail industry. Gel Polish serves as the ideal foundation and entry point, giving beginners a strong base to build on with further training. Students have the flexibility to complete each course at their own pace by booking the additional course at a later date or choose the fast-track option by purchasing both the Gel Polish and Builder Gel courses together—provided the Gel Polish course is scheduled before the Builder Gel course.

What you'll learn:
  • In-depth theory, including anatomy and physiology, and essential product chemistry to ensure safe and effective service delivery.
  • Understanding products: the nail industry can be overwhelming with the variety of base coats, builder gels, and hard gels available. You'll learn the true science behind viscosity and product composition so you can make confident, informed choices about which products are best suited for your clients' specific needs.
  • Perfect Gel Polish Application.  Master the full gel polish process—from correct nail prep to flawless colour application and elegant French finishes.
  • Safe Gel Polish Removal. Learn gentle, professional removal techniques that protect the integrity of the natural nail and ensure long-term client satisfaction.
  • How to recognise and troubleshoot retention issues, helping you provide real results for your clients—and in turn, grow a strong, loyal client base.

This entry-level course lays the foundation for a career as a nail technician. With expert guidance, hands-on practice, and essential industry insights, you'll gain the confidence to offer professional gel polish services and build a strong platform for advancing into further nail courses.

Kit

This course does not include a take-home kit, but all tools and products will be provided for use on the day. As an independent, non-brand-specific academy, you'll get the advantage of trying a variety of professional brands and their curing lamps. This helps you make a well-informed decision about which products you'd like to invest in after your training.

Theory & Pre-Course Information

Upon booking your course, you will receive your course information and theory material—please allow a few days for this to arrive.

The academy ensures the highest quality of training in both theory and practical application, so it’s important to come prepared. Please take the time to read through your theory and become familiar with the content. It should only take a couple of hours and serves as a great head start before your training day. Reading your theory in advance gives you a solid foundation and allows us to focus more time on practical, hands-on learning during the course.

The theory will also be taught in class using a combination of visual aids, videos, real-life tools, and whiteboard explanations, all designed to help you absorb the material easily and build confidence in your new knowledge.
